Home Alarm Systems
Why do I need a home alarm system? How will a home alarm
system benefit me and my family? If you have ever thought about
a home alarm system you have probably asked these questions.
Would you not like to have peace of mind when you are away from
your home and not have to worry about intruders? Of course you
would just like everyone else. We feel it is unfair that we
should have to install a home alarm system in our home give us
protection from thieves and criminals. It is unfair but it is a
fact of life at this day and time because crime continues to
increase in almost all parts of the United States daily.
A home alarm system will alert you if an intruder tries to
enter your home. The burglar is detected easily by sensors. The
sensors are set up to a controlled unit that works with the use
of low voltage hardwire or a narrowband RF signal. These in
turn are used to interact with a response device. Motion
detectors are designed with passive infrared or PIR so that is
very sensitive and picks up any type of motion. The motion can
be an intruder trying to open up any type of access to your
home such as doors, windows, or garage doors. Most burglars or
criminals will not go around a home that is protected by any
home alarm systems which are easily noticed by the stickers or
signs that are placed in the yard by homeowners or companies
that install the units.
The wired home alarm systems are installed in your home by a
professional. When the burglar alarm system is turned on and
the senor detects a motion which is most likely an intruder it
in turns sends a signal to a control unit which is transferred
through a wire or wireless means. Wired alarm systems are more
expensive but are more effective through the use of electricity
whereas wireless systems are cheaper and work less
effectively.
There are many types of home alarm systems that can protect
your family besides the burglar alarm system. The fire alarm
system and the carbon monoxide alarm systems are other devices
that can protect your family and home. All of these devices are
available in wireless or wired systems and will be based on the
amount of money that you budget for these products. A wireless
system can be installed by anyone with a little DIY knowledge
where as the wired system requires a professional which is
usually hired by the company that you are purchasing your
system from. If you system needs to be installed by a
professional then it will cost more money so that is the reason
lots of people choose the wireless system.
There are many types of detectors that indoor home alarm
system devices are constructed with. The passive infrared
detector works without the need to generate its own energy. It
actually works by determining the amount of temperature that
the area that the device is place and detects the change of the
temperature which a person is in the area. This is made
possible through an infrared sensor and can determine if
someone is really present and prevents activation of the alarm
system if the temperature changes but no one is present.
Another type is the ultrasonic detector which detects motion of
a moving object or person with the change of sound waves the
frequency that these devices use range in between 25 kHz and 75
kHz which humans are incapable of hearing.
Which ever type of home alarm system that you choose you are
surely going to make your home and family more secure from
burglars, fires, and carbon monoxide poisoning.
